The Graduate Center research group provides computational research facilities and services to The Graduate Center community and CUNY-wide.
The Graduate Center hosts parallel computer clusters and a wide-area grid for computationally intensive research and instructional use. For social scientists, The Graduate Center research computing group maintains computing facilities for statistical computation, such as the Survey Documentation and Analysis system for Census Data for the Center for Urban Research and the R programming environment for statistical computing. The research computing group also hosts a number of open source Linux applications, including the Open Journal Systems journal management and publishing system (developed by the Public Knowledge Project at the University of British Columbia) and the Moodle course management software environment.
